Our Amazing Staff

Sierra Summit Children's Academy provides work for 5 full-time teachers, 2 breakers, 2 substitute teachers and the Director/Owner. The owner has worked in the field since 1982 and has owned and operated a school since October 13, 1994.

Sierra Summit maintains excellent child to teacher ratios.

All staff have a minimum of the following:

• Washoe County Sheriff's Card (FBI fingerprinting and United States background)
• Negative Tuberculosis Test
• CPR and 1st Aide certificate
• Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention certificate
• Prevention of Communicable Disease certificate
• A minimum of 15 hours of Early Childhood Education Training their first year
• A college degree (or they are working on their degree)

All staff are hired based on their aspiration to improve the future of the children in our care. The majority of our staff have chosen this field as their careers and have worked in the field for lengthy periods of time. While some staff, present and past, have plans or planned to work in another child related field such as elementary education, special education, social work, the child psychology, pediatrics , etc.
